Tropical Island Oasis
Smoothie Mix
Smoothies are a terrific option for people on the go who
want a nutrient-rich drink that is convenient and delicious. They are
versatile, letting you adapt the drink to your own personal taste while
incorporating what you have on hand in your refrigerator. One of our favorite
smoothie recipes is for a Tropical Island Oasis Smoothie mixed with a variety
of fruits and other healthy goodies.
Start with a Good
Fruit Concentrate
There are a wide choices of fruit juices, concentrates and
mixes available on the market. However, consumers should take a close look at
labels before buying. Avoid products with unhealthy ingredients such as added
sugar, high-fructose corn syrup or artificial colors, preservatives and flavorings.
100% whole fruits are beautifully delicious just as nature intended them to be.
For the Island Oasis Smoothie recipe, look for a high-quality tropical fruit
blend.
An excellent choice is part of the line of Smartfruit all-fruit concentrates.
Smartfruit is a company based out of New York that prides themselves on an all
natural and healthy product. Their Tropical Harmony
blend is chock-full of papaya, guava, passion fruit, pineapple and pears.
The drink is enhanced with the addition of Aloe Vera, to help with digestion
and hydration while also boosting the immune system.

Ideas
Making a smoothie can be as easy as adding crushed ice to a
fruit concentrate and blending. However, as more and more people are making
smoothies as a quick meal option, it’s important to pack in as much of those
all important nutrients as possible. Combining whole fruits with 100% natural
fruit concentrates is a good place to start. Whole fruits such as strawberries,
blueberries, raspberries, bananas and mangoes are terrific in smoothies. To reach
the required consistency add milk, almond milk, coconut water or yogurt before
blending. For extra protein, a tablespoon or two of almond or peanut butter is
a nice extra. As vegetables are an important part of our daily diet, adding a
handful of kale, chard, spinach or broccoli sprouts add a powerful nutritional
boost. Including chopped cucumber or mint increases a smoothie’s refreshing
taste. A ripe avocado adds creamy goodness. For extra omega-3 fatty acids, try
stirring in hemp, flax or chia seeds.
Once
you’ve tried the Tropical Harmony blend in this Island Oasis Smoothie Mix
recipe, you may want to try some of the other fruit concentrates made by
Smartfruit. Each 100% fruit blend has an extra healthy boost of goodness that
enhances the immune system, energy levels and fiber intake. Several are spiked
with super fruits like goji or açai berries that increase important
antioxidants. Their website offers their own
